The "revert to original" and transcode is the correct way. And yes, total content larger than disk size gets an error message that is pretty clear and specific.
Adobe staff presence on forums varies quite a bit. Often staff participate on their own time. Participation still seems pretty active on the Premiere forum. Encore is an odd product, I think in part because it is so reliant on the licensed sonicauthorcore (and therefore not subject to Adobe action).
