Put in a marker while the clip is in the source monitor; that way, the marker will stay with the clip at that position regardless of how the clip is edited. If your clip is already in a sequence, double-click on it and it should be in the source monitor. Then put a marker where you want it. It should show up on the clip in the sequence. If you double click on the clip while in the sequence, you can add text to it to remind you why you marked it there.
