Hi Paul,

Hey Kevin

Thanks for getting back to me.  That is a lot of work.  As editors we don't have time to be dealing with these headaces and this might not event solve the problem.  Hopefully the Adobe team can get it right next time and there will be an update soon.

Thanks

You're right. These things might not fix the issue. That's troubleshooting for you, but I'm only trying to help you.

These items are not a lot of work in my experience. These are common troubleshooting steps you should be aware of if you are a Mac OS X user (especially a OS X 10.9.x or later user). Each one of these tasks only take a minute or two.

If none of these things work, you can reinstall OS X. Now, that is what may take time.

When problems arise, it might not always be an issue with Premiere Pro. For example, there's not much Adobe can do when OS X switches permissions to read only in the Adobe folder after updating the OS. It's an OS X issue that you have to be aware of and it helps to have knowledge about how to fix it.

FWIW, I still run OS X 10.8.5 on my personal MacBook Pro and don't have any of the issues OS X 10.9.x users do have.

I hope the troubleshooting steps help you.

Thanks,
Kevin
