Chicagodom the use of the system restore feature can often lead to unexpected results/behavior.

 

I would recommend running the CC Cleaner Tool to attempt to remove your current installation.  You can find directions and the download link at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

 

If you continue to receive installation errors then please review your installation logs for the exact error message.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.
